Gran Turismo 4 Mobile, Finally?

Taken from Gamespot:

It’s been a long time coming, but Gran Turismo is finally coming to the PSP. Gran Turismo 4 Mobile was announced way back in 2004, but it was only at E3 this week that a release date (October 1, alongside the PSP Go) and a new title (Gran Turismo for PSP) were confirmed, and the game appeared in playable form somewhere other than behind closed doors. The E3 demo weighs in with an impressive 100 cars and 14 tracks, but that’s just a fraction of the 800 cars and 35 tracks (60 with variants) that will be included in the finished game.

With so many options at our disposal, we set about testing the demo’s extremes. First, we took the incredibly quick Toyota Le Mans for a spin around Laguna Seca, and then, after scrolling to the other end of the vehicle selection screen, we climbed into an ancient and extremely slow Citroen 2CV to take a look at the Tsukuba circuit. We were tempted to check out the Nurburgring, but that takes a long time even in a race car, so in the 2CV (which took a long time to get up to 40mph before we hit a corner), it would likely have taken a good portion of the day.

The fact that Gran Turismo features such a broad range of vehicles is truly impressive, and though some might say that cars like the 2CV, the Daihatsu Midget, the Fiat 500, and the Nissan Cube have no place in a racing game, it’s immediately apparent as you scroll through the list that Polyphony Digital is picking and choosing which vehicles to include very carefully. Some have been chosen because they’re fast, some because they’re fun, many because–at least to some people–they are considered classics. DMC’s DeLorean, the 1990 Toyota Supra, the Pagani Zonda, the 1973 Alpine A110 1600S–the list just goes on, and you’d do well to approach Gran Turismo as the “driving simulator” that it is, rather than wishing it were a racing game (like some of us).

Taking the controls of any car in Gran Turismo is fun, even if the game rarely forgives mistakes. The PSP controls work well regardless of whether you choose the D pad or the analog nub, the visuals are impressive and move at a steady 60 frames per second, and the racing line feature borrowed from Forza serves as a great learning tool. Where the game falters, depending on your criteria, is in its lack of believable or competitive AI drivers, its lack of damage models, and its lack of customization options outside of those offered by manufacturers. These things have been true of every game in the long-running series, and Gran Turismo for PSP is no exception.

On the upside, GT for the PSP will support ad-hoc play for up to four players, so there’s some realistic racing to be had provided you can find a friend or three with a copy of the game. We’re also told that you’ll be able to trade cars with friends, though it’s unclear if you’ll be swapping them one for one, exchanging in-game money, or just unlocking cars you’ve already gained access to for your friend.

Gran Turismo for the PSP will be released both as a UMD and a download on October 1. Based on what we saw of the game today, it’s unlikely to attract many drivers who aren’t already fans of the series, but it could well be a must-have for those who are fans.

Woot! I really hope that this news is for real. I’ve been waiting for this game since i brought my PSP in 2006 ^^

Intermezzo: 24 Hours is Not Enough!

YEAH!!! Finally I can write on my blog again! Hahahahahaha… Currently I’ve been busy with my college things and other, so this blog is a little bit forgotten.

But I’m back now, and I want to write something. So, what should I write now? Hmm… What about games that I’m currently playing? Nice…

GRID Logo

GRID

In the last week I only managed to played 2 games, GRID and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. Yap, GRID is a 2007 game. Quite old, I know. But I really enjoyed it, it’s a good racing game from Codemasters. It can be tell that GRID is the sequel of the famous TOCA series from Codemastes, eventhough it’s not using TOCA title. I think because GRID is more arcade than TOCA series.

PES2009 Logo

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

And the other one is Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (also known as Winning Eleven 2009). A last football game from Konami. I like it more than EA’s FIFA series because PES is more realistic than FIFA. The bad things is PES do not have licenses as many as FIFA.  New features in PES is Become A Legend, quite similiar to FIFA’s Be A Pro, but in here we create a player from youngster and training him to become one of greatest player. Yup, you can create yourself, like i did :D

That’s all… So, happy playing!

Need for Speed: Shift Teaser

First teaser from Need for Speed Shift. I can’t say much, but why I feel Shift very similiar to GRID? Is EA want to clone GRID? I hope not, because NFS is a great racing games itself.

Oh yeah, this teaser also said that Shift will be release at 22 September 2009 at US and 17 September 2009 at Europe. Happy waiting guys!

Modern Warfare 2 Debut Teaser

The first teaser of Modern Warfare 2, formerly Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Still no detail about the gamplay or the release date.

I don’t know why Infinity Wards didn’t use Call of Duty name anymore, maybe they want to create a new series? Well, no problem for me. Infinity Wards always developed a good games right?

Rock Band: Unplugged for PSP

Rock Band Unplugged

Rock Band Unplugged

If you have a PSP and loves to play music game like Guitar Hero, Rock Band Unplugged is sure a good news to you! Sony has announced that Rock Band series will be released for PSP under subtitle Unplugged. Eventhough there’s still no detail about the gameplay or the release date.

It’s also said that Rock Band Unplugged will using the WiFi connection to access an in-game music store to download a new song. Too bad there is no multiplayer support for this game.

Screenshots: Need for Speed: Shift

Wait, i know what you think, but this is not GRID. Yup, this is new screenshots taken from new Need for Speed series, SHIFT. I don’t know what EA thinks, but this SHIFT very looks alike GRID. Hope this new NFS game will be better than Underwear Undercover.

From the screenshots, we can see that there’s Pagani Zonda, Porsche (probably GT3) and Audi (I don’t know what car it is).

Becoming a World Class Football Player

Just play www.footstar.org.

Maybe some of you ask “What is Footstar?”. Well, Footstar is a browser game based about football (or soccer in some countries) that allow us to become one of the player, not like the others game when we only can be the manager.

It’s quite fun for me, because so many people we can interact in a team. We must build a friendship with our teammates, yet we’re compete each other for starting XI. Your call if you wanna make a friend, or an enemy. Of course we need to built up our skill if we want to get to the starting XI. Also we can also have a girlfriend, build a relationship, and get married.

Can we play as the manager? The answer is YES! We can become a manager of our own’s team. We can create our team, name it as we like, choose the player we like, and pick our favorite strategy. But to become a manager, we must pay some fee.

So, want to be a football player? Let’s play Footstar
